surFACTS

I am a chemistry PhD student with an interest in learning more about the products we take for granted in our daily life. A majority of the products contain many ingredients which can get a bit difficult to get your head around.  I am mostly interested in surfactants which are basically friendly little molecules with a hydrophilic ('water-loving') head and hydrophobic ('fat-loving') tails that play a crucial role in food, personal care, lubricants, paints, oil recovery, medicine etc ...
